It’s true.Lazy Girl

I’m a bit of a slacker.

I like instant mashed potatoes over the real thing, I sleep in till 10am every morning and I hate actually having to pick up the phone.

Now if you’re anything like me, you spend your life pursuing the things you enjoy and avoiding the things you don’t.

When I first got started in this industry, I thought I had a huge problem. All of my likes and dislikes seemed to contradict one another.

I love network marketing, but I hate picking up the phone.

I love being successful, but I hate having to, you know, actually work.

See what I mean?

So what’s a guy like me to do? Well, after trying to overcome my dislike of the the things I hated and failing miserably, I decided to take a closer look at my “problem”. I like to think of my self a  bit of a philosopher, basically I’m not afraid to question …well, anything really.

Question 1: Can I do network marketing, and never have to make a phone call?

You see a lot of these MLM guru flap-jaws telling you no, in order to build your mlm business, you have to pick up the phone. Hmm…  I think Daegan Smith (the king of never calling a single lead) would have a few things to say about that. With the right internet marketing model, you should have no problem building your mlm business on total auto pilot.

“Who says you have to call leads?”

Question 2: Is hard work necessary to find success?

I can’t help but think about all of the hardworking people I know that are really struggling. In fact the ones that work the hardest often have the least. Figure that one out.

It’s like the old saying goes, work smarter, not harder.

So what are three ways, we can work smarter, without having to actually do any more work? What are three ways being lazy can actually grow your MLM business even faster?

Lazy MLM business builder #1: Do less work. Period.

I used to waste so much time doing all of this….stuff…that I though was helping me to build my business. I was doing all of the things the mlm gurus where telling me I needed to do. 80% was a total waste of time.

Take a close look at what you are doing and only spend time on the things that are bringing you measurable results.

What did this mean for me? Well it meant spending less time on facebook and twitter, less time blog commenting and less time building complicated link wheels. Most of my time is now spent on two things. Blogging, and article spinning.

The things that work for you may very well be different, so just focus on what works and shitcan the rest. MLM gurus be damned.

Lazy MLM business builder #2: Slack off more.

Dedication is a good thing, but sometimes you just have to blow off some steam, sometimes you just have to unwind. You know what they say about all work and no play right?

I found that when I start to get frustrated and I’m not really seeing the results I want, it’s time for me to take a break. Time to slack off a little. Kicking back and blowing off my work really helps me to clear my mind. I’ve learned that I can’t force new ideas and I can’t just force out a solution to a problem.

But when I kick back, have a drink, play some PS3, watch a movie, go wheeling or whatever… well the ideas seem to just flow to me.

“I’m workin here”

Like when I’m trying to write a new blog post. The hardest part for me is getting started. I always know what I want to say, but sometimes I have a real hard time knowing where to begin. I used to make myself to sit there until I was able to force something half decent onto the page. This sometimes cost me hours and always cost me my sanity.

Now if I get stuck, instead of just sitting there, I’ll blow it off and go do something I want to do. When I come back I always have a fresh viewpoint and usually have no problem getting my opening thoughts on the page. This is exactly what I did when I wrote this article.

Lazy MLM business builder #3: Learn to savor the distraction.

I’m guna let you in on a little secret. I have adult add. Like a mother fucker.

I used to try to fight the constant distractions. This just left me frustrated, pissed off and unable to get anything done. Sometimes you gota learn to just ride the current. Something distracting you? Fighting for your attention? Just give in.

Often times my biggest distractions are my biggest sources of inspiration.

“What distraction?”

For example, I have 2 hobbies that I really enjoy and there are a few message boards dedicated to these hobbies that I like to spend time on. At first I always thought of this as a distraction.  Something that took me away from my “work”.

What a fuckin joke.

Turns out, these two little hobbies of mine are actually 2 of my biggest markets. Once I realized this, I was able to tap into that market and I stated pulling a profit almost instantly.

So what about you? What are some ways being lazy has helped you grow your mlm business?

No go and click the lick and RT buttons for me. I know you’re lazy, but you can at least do that much right?

Hi Micah,

Perfect. I wrote about this yesterday.

I work 15 minutes to 2 hours a day. I receive the same – or better – results. Now, I work intelligently. I relax. I engage only in effective acts because I have no time to do otherwise. I have X number of minutes of connectivity here in the jungles of Bali so I make them count, and my productivity has gone through the roof.

Thanks for sharing!

When it comes to business, we should definitely try to balance our time. we can work while enjoying. But this can only be done if we will be able to modify and determine the business needs that we need to face and solve at the same time. I am sure many will be able to relate with your blog.

Micah, I made a decision when I started blogging that it had to be fun. Don’t get me wrong, making money is VERY fun. But it can get to be a drag. By focusing on your hobbies, you will stick to it.
